The purposes of CFTRL are as follows:
1. To assist authorities in enforcing and administering the law in Canada.
2. To increase public awareness and knowledge of legal rights and obligations in Canada promulgated under the rule of law, and the important role the enforcement of those rights and obligations play in Canadian society.
In order to assist authorities to enforce the law, we will:
• conduct extensive research to ensure that various organizations and persons comply with federal and provincial laws
• submit representations to law enforcement agencies and federal, provincial and municipal government ministries and departments
• advocate for enforcement of laws in Canada and their application to all persons in Canada, through selective litigation
• seek to educate the public on the principles underlying the Constitution of Canada and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms
